VILLAGE LIFE

Bahareduk located in the mountainous region in the north of East Timor about three hours away from the capital of Dili

BUILDING

Traditional village houses are made on stilts with wooden walls and roofs, which often are not water proofed or easily accessible for the elderly

WATER

Located in the mountains there is a local river which supplies majority of the water to the village, stored in rainwater tanks above the village and often requires maintenance

EDUCATION

The village has a 'Primary School' then kids are required to travel outside of the village for 'High School' often into Dili living with family or boarding

GARDENING

With local markets nearby a majority of income for the villagers is producing crops
